Jakarta Evening Excursion

Jakarta Evening Excursion

Viewing Chinatown, Viewing the Old Batavia Area, Visiting Ancol Dreamland Park and having a short photo stop by the bay, Visiting the Art Market, Tasting the Indonesian cuisine.

Nothing could be more relaxing than driving around the city in the evening, just as the city skyline is bathed in twilight and a cool night breeze takes us out along the coastal waters. Enjoy the evening drive through the busiest district of Chinatown until reaching Ancol Dreamland. Visit the art market, then have a chance to taste the delicious Indonesian food.

Pick-up service in the afternoon, we will drive passing China Town and the Old Batavia Area until we reach the famous and largest recreation park, Ancol Dreamland Park. Inside the park, we will stroll around the area, have a short photo stop by the bay, and then stop to visit the art market.

After the visit, we will spend about 2 hours tasting the Indonesian cuisine. After dinner, we will return to end the excursion.

The Chinese have always played an important role in Jakarta's economy. After some 5,000 died in a bloody massacre in 1740, they were relocated just outside the fortress walls, to an area just south of the old city now known as Glodok.

Public use of the Chinese script is discouraged in Indonesia, so the signboards that give a distinctive character to Chinatowns elsewhere are absent here. But Chinese architecture is still in evidence along a maze of narrow streets behind Glodok Plaza, filled with hawkers, footstalls, and small shops.
